
We’ve all been through it. Your child suddenly becomes extremely fussy in their choice of foods. It is not a simple behavior problem where the child is being deliberately defiant. This sense of sensitivity to the taste and texture of foods is real. Fortunately most children with Asperger’s Syndrome who have this type of sensitivity eventually grow out of it. If these tips don't work, you could try the following:
Maybe you can encourage your child to lick and taste rather than chew or swallow new food in order to encourage a variety of foods and to test his/her sensory reaction?
Some adults with Asperger's Syndrome continue to have a very restricted diet consisting of the same essential ingredients, cooked and presented in the same way throughout their lives.
