Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to obtain the proper education for your special needs child within the public school system. You may select any team member to help you, but it is essential that the third member of your team be an advocate or a special education lawyer. You have from the time your child’s is admitted into the school system until they graduate to receive all the essential special education services and accommodations and modifications so that they can be taught in the least restrictive environment and receive FAPE. Your child must also progress and achieve all their goals and objectives that are stated in their IEP each school year. Any behaviors that interferes with their education will be correctly addressed and your child will always be taught using the treatments and interventions that are best suited for their needs. As always, should any member of your team be caught or killed, your family will disavow all knowledge of your actions.

So how are you doing on your “mission”?

Debbie-
You have to have a sense of humor when you are advocating for your child. LOL!
