After extensive practice during the weekend and even walking through the closed driving course (it is locked up when MVA is not using it), the Rookie Driver made another attempt to pass the driving test yesterday afternoon. I sat in white-knuckled silence from the designated parent bench as the Rookie Driver was taken through the aggravating time course. It was so nerve racking watching him drive slowly through each traffic maneuver and obstacle, never knowing how he was doing. All during the horrendous ordeal I sipped on my trusty Pepto-Bismol which is considered much more socially acceptable than a bottle of Jack Daniel’s at the MVA center. It was the longest ten minutes of my life watching the Rookie Driver doing the impossible and finally it was over. I waited patiently chewing on my Pepto-Bismol bottle until the label was completely gone then the Tester slowly got out of the car. I was so impatient to get in the car that I practically pulled him out. Sitting there with my seatbelt on I was afraid to ask the inevitable, but I just had to find out, “Did you pass?” The Rookie Driver had a big smile plastered on his face and told me he got a 100 on the test. I didn’t know if I should be glad or worried (Do I really want him to drive? Eeek, gads!)
Hours later I was still numb from the experience. All that comes to mind is that it is my duty to warn others that they must stay clear of a silver Jeep Liberty at all times. Rookie Driver is now solo.

Way to go Rookie Rider (and mom, too!)
Autism is Not the Boss-
Thanks! It was nerve racking, but now since he is solo, I think it is worse. LOL!
Chuckling here. LOL
Way to go Rookie! And a 100 score! Wow!
Know what I think? I think because I've been chuckling at you about this, it's going to be ten times worse for me. LOL
Debbie-
Those who laugh now WILL get it ten times worse for them later. LOL!
YIKES!!! We were just discussing this the other day....not that I doubt my son's skills but I have serious concerns about his decision making ability and tendency to overreact....I thank God we aren't there yet. You are a brave woman!
