Sleep problems is a recognized feature with ASD particularly in sleep-wake cycles. Sleep disorders lead to considerable stress among the children, parents, and siblings yet we know little about the neurobiologic and medical causes of this problem.
Studies find that approximately 73% of children with Asperger’s Syndrome (AS) experience sleep problems, and these problems tend to last longer in this group than they do for children without AS.

I wish I could find something to help my husband. He often wakes up at 2 and has trouble sleeping after that. (Adult, AS)
Julie-
My hubby is the same way. He just moves to the guest room so he won't bother me. LOL!
That's nice of him! Steve doesn't usually bother me too much, but I feel bad for him that he has trouble sleeping...and then he starts thinking and worrying and things and I think it makes the problem worse!
Julie-
I'm a light sleeper and if I don't get my rest I'm very grouchy the next day so hubby tries to be quiet. Our guest room is in the process of getting new flooring so there isn't a bed in there. He hits the couch and flops out there. I think it's stress too and that they do not have a bedtime routine. LOL!
Wow 73%!
Casdok-
