dilly dallying- dil/lee dal/ly/ing
to dawdle; to waste time unnecessarily and carelessly; to cause one to be late for not staying on task
My son constantly dilly dallies. It is a reoccurring phenomenon that drives me absolutely crazy. It takes him over an hour and a half to get ready for school or for church. We are forever waiting for him to get his butt in gear and get done so he can do something or go somewhere. After careful consideration I am wondering if he is practicing for a new Olympic event which of course he would win the gold metal for Dilly Dallying without any trouble what so ever.
We have tried everything imaginable to rectify this matter, but to no avail. We tried visual schedules, cueing, charts with consequences, priming, positive behavior supports, Social Autopsies, SOCCSS, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, etc. Still his dilly dallying thrives to the point of driving his parents completely mad with this annoying and highly controversial behavior. It has gotten to the point that I am actually considering using a cattle prod to ZAP him a good one whenever warranted.
I swear hubby has AS and exhibits this behavior and other irritating habits as well. Since he travels extensively I do not have to deal with it 24/7, but the erratic and ludicrous behavior becomes overwhelming at times. Therefore I probably need to procure two cattle prods to keep my sanity.
Something tells me I will wear them out in no time.

LOL! I love the sense of humor. I think we've got a little one training for the same event. Trying to get out the door on time is almost impossible!!! Good luck!
Make it 2 little ones in training!
Thanks for making me laugh!!!! If you find a good supplier for cattle prods, please let me know!
